There’s something hopeful about seeing lights on and people working inside a familiar Lewiston building. At the former Luigi’s on Sabattus Street, the work has been a collection of small, practical steps—some visible from the sidewalk, many happening behind the doors.
Pine & Shine came in to clean the restaurant and the upstairs apartment. In the apartment, we worked through the kitchen, bathroom, and living spaces so the rooms could be seen and assessed clearly. Downstairs, we cleaned the dining, entry, counter, and preparation areas. A freshly cleaned room does not decide what happens next, but it makes the next conversation easier.

Projects like this take more than one pair of hands. Stacy of R & S Enterprise of Sebago helped clean the dining area and entry and brought practical knowledge to the threshold and door work. Other local specialists have handled their own parts of the property. Coastal Hood Cleaners worked on the hood; Zoom Drain handled drain and grease-trap work; MRE inspected equipment within its agreed scope; and Firesafe Equipment performed inspections and onsite system service.
The project is still moving. Decisions and additional work remain, and any news about the future use of the space belongs to the people making those plans. For now, I’m glad to see local people doing the real work that helps a property move forward.

I believe new local businesses and the people helping them get started can be part of Lewiston’s next chapter. This is one small look at that work.
